Bidding on a Tender
When you decide to consider bidding on a tender, you are taken to the bid overview screen that details which lots within the tender you are bidding on, your selected team, and a list of any questions you have asked.
The bid overview screen also has a tab detailing the tender description, for reference.
On the bid overview screen, you can select the "My Team" tab to manage people involved in your bid.
Click the "Add Team Member" button to bring up the form dialog. You can leave an employee's job description and resume fields blank if you want to use the default descriptions entered and maintained by the employee.
Once added you can edit or remove anyone using the buttons against each person, or add more team members.
One the lot overview screen you can review all information before deciding if you want to add the lot to your bid.
If the tender has supplied any supplemental information, you will be able to view these files in the "Related Files" section.
Once you add the lot to your bid, you'll see an updated screen, where you can fill in any questions presented to you for the lot. Note that some questions may be required where others are optional - you'll see under the completion box for each question if it is required, and also the word limit for the answer.
If you need to supply any attachments requested by the tenderer, or as a continuation for your bid answers, you should navigate to the "Attachments" tab and add them there.
The final item you need to enter for your bid lot is a quote. The lot will show you the maximum recommended value for your bid - the tenderer may accept higher bids in certain circumstances, but generally you should aim to quote at or below this value. Note that all bid lots are subject to a fee, paid only if you are awarded the contract - if you are not successful for a given lot, there is no fee.
When you're happy with your bid, and the lots you've selected to bid on, click on the "Submit Bid" button on the right-hand side of the bid overview screen.
Before the bid is submitted you'll be asked to review the details you've entered and press the "Submit Bid" button again. Your bid will then be submitted to the tenderer.
Once submitted, your bid will be reviewed (usually after the bidding deadline), and you will be contacted by the system to let you know if your bid was successful or not. If successful your details will be available to the tender to contact you directly with contract details, and we'll generate an invoice for any fees due as a result of your awarded bid lots.
